Passport to Freedom | Dr. Nizam Missaghi
This week Vance sat down with Dr. Nizam Missaghi who shared the remarkable story behind his new book, “Passport to Freedom: From Tehran to Triumph”. Nizam grew up in Tehran after the Iranian Revolution as a member of the Baha’i faith, where he faced religious discrimination and repeated obstacles to his education. At 18, unable to leave Iran legally, Nizam was smuggled across the mountains into Turkey — carrying an American passport that was literally his passport to freedom. In this fascinating conversation, Nizam shares his experience of growing up under the Islamic Republic, religious persecution after the Iranian Revolution, his dramatic escape from Iran, becoming a doctor in America, the various meanings of freedom, and his perspective on Iran today. His memoir, Passport to Freedom: From Tehran to Triumph, is available in print and audiobook at Amazon, Barnes & Noble and all other good booksellers. When not podcasting, Vance is invited to give talks on tangible communication skills. He teaches how to connect with employees, colleagues and family so that you can negotiate, have better relationships and achieve your higher goals. #NizamMissaghi #PassportToFreedom #IranianRevolution #Iran #VanceCrowe
